Mavisten Edition

Mavisten Edition was founded in 2018 by Michael Almodova after 20 years of industry experience from former positions at Restoration Hardware, Pottery Barn, and Arhaus. Michael grew up with inventive influences from his dad, who was an airplane mechanic in the US Air Force, and a grandfather who worked on the Union Pacific Railroad.

His passion for lighting began at the age of 8 when his dad taught him how to wire and solder. His interest led him to an education in product design and engineering from Stanford University, which paved the way to his design career. He now leads the Mavisten Edition design team, who all champion his mission for celebrating the magic of light with innovative design.

Michael Berman

Berman’s products and interiors reflect the designer’s interest in history, art, and architecture – especially the Deco period of the 30’s and 40’s – film noir and the influences of designers such as Angelo Donghia, Billy Haines, and Dorothy Draper. His work strikes an uncommon balance between timeless style and an at-the-moment relevance.

In addition to interiors projects from New York to Los Angeles Berman has lent his creative vision to a burgeoning line of products and furniture with leading brands in the industry such as Robert Abbey, Walker Zanger, Kravet and Brown Jordan, to name a few, and his most recent line “Califolio” with Theodore Alexander.

Rico Espinet

Rico Espinet is known for creating striking, poetic environments that combine clean lines and simple forms.

Reflecting his training as a sculptor, Rico's design sensibility is grounded in materials and values that endure. His spaces mix furnishings, lighting, accessories, industrial objects, and fine art in settings at once comfortable and freshly discerning.

In the mid-1990s, Rico returned to his studio, a converted elementary school, in the Amish community of rural Stone Arabia, New York, to work on commissions and create what would become his first lighting line. His Monk Lamp, crafted with a microphone base, plumbing parts, and an industrial machinist shade, appeared in an international Hunter Douglas ad that ran for two years in many magazines, creating serious buzz and a lengthy waiting list. Jeffrey and Darlene Rose called, and for 16 years, Rico has designed residential and contract lighting for Robert Abbey, Inc.

Williamsburg

Trend meets tradition in th WILLIAMSBURG collection. Inspired by 18th-century furniture patterns in rare books, architectural details in the "Revolutionary City," and decorative details and colors in the vast design archive of the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation, Robert Abbey's talented design team has developed lamps and fixtures with timeless style and contemporary appeal. They've channeled global chic from England's 18th century trade goods and paired Asian elegance with urns that represent the classical founations of British and American architectural heritage.

Established in 1936, WILLIAMSBURG invented licensing of museum-based home furnishings. WILLIAMSBURG is the brand of The Colonial Williamsburg Foundation, the large not-for-profit organization that keeps history alive by maintaining the country's oldest and largest outdoor history museum. Here, visionaries like Thomas Jefferson and Patrick Henry debated the promise-and perils-of a revolution that would change the course of history and lead to the founding of the United States of America. Sales of WILLIAMSBURG products supports the mission of historical education, preservation, and the nurture of active citizen engagement.
